Phyllis Kampe

Reid serves as our custodian and maintenance man. He has been coming to Church of the Open Door since 1999. He and his wife Missy are both involved in several church ministries. Reid is the leader of the Levite ministry, and Missy teaches Sunday school and helps with Alive.

Pastor John serves as Assistant Pastor. He has been married to his wife Sandy since 1966. They are both from Eastern Pennsylvania. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. Pastor John and Sandy graduated from Mount Vernon Bible College in 1967. They have ministered together since then in Arkansas, Ohio, Illinois and Iowa. Pastor John oversees music, technical ministries, and property maintenance among other things.

Pastor Jim serves as the Senior Pastor of Church of the Open Door. He and his wife, Lisa, have served the church family and the Gateway area since 1996. They are both graduates of Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX. They have two children, Aundrea and Seth. Pastor Jim has a passion to teach and disciple in such a way that others can learn and grow through their own daily walk with Jesus Christ. Lisa serves as a counselor at Inside Out Christian Counseling Center in Clinton, IA.

Our Church Staff

Pastor Chris serves as our Next Gen Pastor. He and his wife Courtney have three sons and two daughters. They met at Church of the Open door, and have continued to serve here ever since. Chris gives oversight to children's ministries from nursery through High School.

Pastor John Loyd

Phyllis serves as our secretary. Her and her husband Bob (a retired boilermaker) recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. Phyllis has three children, five grandchildren and two grand-dogs. Bob and Phyllis have attended Church of the Open Door since 1995. Phyllis has worked in the church office since 2013. Her life verse is, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.”
